Restorative Dentistry
Custom porcelain bridges anchored to neighboring teeth or implants. Designed to restore function, preserve alignment, and look completely natural.
The Approach
A missing tooth affects more than your appearance. It changes how you chew, how you speak, and how your remaining teeth align over time. At Capital Dental Design, dental bridges are designed to restore all three functions with a prosthetic that blends seamlessly into your smile.
Dr. Forbes works with expert ceramists to craft each bridge from high-quality porcelain. The result is a restoration that matches the shade, translucency, and contour of your natural teeth. You will not see where the bridge begins and your natural teeth end.
When one tooth is missing, the surrounding teeth begin to shift. A bridge holds everything in place, preserving your bite, your bone, and your confidence.
Types of Bridges
Capital Dental Design offers several types of dental bridges, including traditional bridges anchored to adjacent teeth, implant-supported bridges for greater stability, cantilever bridges when only one adjacent tooth is available, and Maryland bridges that use a conservative metal or porcelain framework. Dr. Forbes will recommend the option that best suits your anatomy and long-term goals.

The Process
A carefully sequenced process that balances precision with patient comfort at every stage.
Dr. Forbes evaluates your mouth, takes digital scans, and discusses the best bridge option for your specific situation. X-rays and photographs document the starting condition.
The abutment teeth on either side of the gap are carefully reshaped to accept the bridge. Local anesthesia ensures complete comfort during this step.
Precision digital or physical impressions are taken and sent to our partner ceramist. These impressions ensure the bridge will fit with exacting accuracy.
A temporary bridge is placed to protect the prepared teeth while your permanent restoration is fabricated in the laboratory.
When the permanent bridge arrives, Dr. Forbes checks the fit, shade, and bite. Adjustments are made as needed before the bridge is permanently cemented into place.

Why Dental Bridges
A dental bridge restores your ability to chew and speak normally. You can enjoy the foods you love without discomfort or limitation.
By filling the gap, a bridge prevents surrounding teeth from shifting out of alignment, which can lead to bite problems and further tooth loss.
Porcelain bridges are color-matched and shaped to blend with your existing teeth. The restoration is virtually undetectable.
Missing teeth can cause the face to appear sunken over time. Bridges maintain the natural contour of your face and jawline.
With proper care and regular dental examinations, a well-made dental bridge can last ten years or more.
A complete smile eliminates the self-consciousness that comes with visible gaps. You can smile, laugh, and speak with assurance.
